Definition

An accessory navicular bone is a congenital anomaly of the foot.

Overview:

    • It is an extra bone that causes pain on the inner arch area.
    • In some patients, the accessory bone causes localized pain because it rubs against the shoe.

Treatment:

    • Change of footwear to accommodate the bump
    • Soft orthotic (Medial Arch Support)
    • Calf stretching is needed
